Z330: Super Ultrabook™ that Outshines Ordinary Ultrabooks

The Z330 is the most compact product in LG’s newest Super Ultrabook™ Series, boasting vastly superior features above and beyond Intel’s Ultrabook™ requirements, while remaining attractive in both performance and portability.

In terms of performance, LG’s proprietary Super Speed Boot technology enables rapid booting, roughly three times faster than other 13-inch notebooks in the market. Powered by the second generation Intel? CoreTM i7 processor, the Z330 requires less than 10 seconds to complete booting, while it requires a mere two seconds to recover from stand-by mode. Equally important, the Z330 is equipped with the latest SATA3 Solid State Drive (SSD) , which is more than 11 times faster than an ordinary hard drive.

The Z330 is also unrivalled in terms of compactness and portability, thanks to its Super Compact Clutch design which reduces the width of the bezel to minimal levels. LG Z330/Z440 Super Ultrabooks, ένα AiO PC και δύο ακόμη notebooks στην CES 2012

Με τον καταιγισμό από tablets και laptops τα τελευταία χρόνια, έχουμε σχεδόν ξεχάσει ότι υπάρχουν και desktop computers, μιας και οι περισσότερες εταιρίες ασχολούνται με τις νέες αγορές, ενώ στην κορυφή στρογγυλοκάθεται το iMac της Apple.

Ευτυχώς, η HP συνεχίζει την παραγωγή των All in One PCs της και ανακοίνωσε το HP Omni 27, ένα εξαιρετικό desktop PC με οθόνη 27” LED (δυστυχώς όχι touchscreen) και quad-core επεξεργαστή!

HP Omni 27 All in One PC με quad-core επεξεργαστή, χωρίς touchscreen

Κατά την εκδήλωση Microsoft BUILD που πραγματοποιείται αυτή την ώρα στο Los Angeles, η εταιρεία παρουσίασε τα νέα της tablets, notebooks αλλά και desktops, όλα με το τελευταίο λειτουργικό σύστημα Windows 8.

O Steve Sinofsky έκανε, μάλιστα, επίδειξη του νέου λειτουργικού συστήματος σε συσκευές με επεξεργαστές ARM και Qualcomm, αλλά και σε ένα νέο tablet με τον επερχόμενο τετραπύρηνο επεξεργαστή NVIDIA Tegra 3. Επιπλέον, μέσα στη βδομάδα αναμένεται να ανακοινωθεί και ο νέος σταθερός υπολογιστής HP Phoenix και μαζί όλα τα τεχνικά χαρακτηριστικά του.

Τέλος, στα πλαίσια της εκδήλωσης BUILD, η Microsoft ανακοίνωσε ότι θα διανείμει ένα “Samsung Windows Developer Preview PC” σε περίπου 5.000 developers. Όπως ήταν αναμενόμενο, η Mozilla κυκλοφόρησε σήμερα την τελική έκδοση του Firefox 6, τόσο για υπολογιστές όσο και για συσκευές Android.

Οι διαφορές με τις προηγούμενες εκδόσεις δεν είναι ιδιαίτερα σημαντικές, καθώς πέραν τον κλασσικών επιδιορθώσεων μικροπροβλημάτων και κενών ασφαλείας, οι νέες λειτουργίες περιορίζονται στη βελτίωση των γραμματοσειρών, τη νέα μπάρα διευθύνσεων και την ταχύτερη εκκίνηση στο Panorama mode.

Σχετικά με την έκδοση Mozilla Firefox 6 για συσκευές Android, έρχεται με πληθώρα αλλαγών, βελτιώσεων και νέων λειτουργιών, όπως ο επανασχεδιασμός για συσκεύες με Gingerbread, καλύτερη υποστήριξη για tablets και περισσότερα από 160 νέα add-ons!

Mozilla Firefox 6 διαθέσιμη η τελική έκδοση για desktops και Android

Συνεχίζουμε με τα νέα προϊόντα της Apple, αυτή τη φορά με τα ανανεωμένα Mac Mini, τα οποία εξοπλίζονται με επεξεργαστές Intel Sandy Bridge, με διπλάσια μνήμη σε σχέση με τα προηγούμενα μοντέλα, με υποδοχή Thunderbolt, αλλά χωρίς να διαθέτουν πλέον DVD drive!

Αναλυτικότερα, υπάρχει επιλογή για επεξεργαστή dual-core Intel Core i5 2.3GHz ή Core i7 2.7GHz, με σχεδόν διπλάσια απόδοση σε σχέση με τα προηγούμενα, επεξεργαστής γραφικών Intel HD 3000, επιλογή για αποθηκευτικό χώρο 500GB ή 750GB HDD σε συνδυασμό με 256GB SSD, WiFi, καθώς και τεχνολογία Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 για ομαλή λειτουργία του multitasking.

Ακόμη, στο πίσω μέρος του υπάρχουν υποδοχές SD, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, miniDisplay, 4x USB 2.0, Firewire 800, Thunderbolt και audio in/out.

Τα νέα Mac Mini είναι διαθέσιμα από σήμερα σε τιμές που ξεκινούν από €599.

Νέα Mac Mini με Intel Sandy Bridge, Thunderbolt χωρίς DVD drive

Η στιγμή που περιμέναμε μετά από αρκετή φημολογία και αρκετούς μήνες αναμονής έφτασε, με τον Steven Sinofsky της Microsoft να παρουσιάζει κατά τη διάρκεια της D9 Conference το πρώτο επίσημο preview του λειτουργικού συστήματος Windows 8!

Όπως αναμενόταν, το Windows 8 θα είναι πλήρως βελτιστοποιημένο για χρήση σε tablets, ενώ απώτερος σκοπός της Microsoft είναι να λειτουργεί άψογα και σε υπολογιστές!

Από τα screenshots της ιστοσελίδας Engadget μπορούμε να διακρίνουμε ότι η αρχική οθόνη μοιάζει αρκετά με το mobile λειτουργικό σύστημα Windows Phone, ενώ είναι εμφανές και το περιβάλλον Metro UI.

Ακόμη, το Windows 8 περιλαμβάνει τον Internet Explorer 10, κατάστημα εφαρμογών Windows App Store και μπορεί να “τρέχει” εφαρμογές που έχουν δημιουργηθεί για desktops, καθώς επίσης εφαρμογές HTML5 και Java για tablets.

Η πρώτη επίσημη preview έκδοση του Windows 8 έχει χρησιμοποιηθεί σε συσκευές με επεξεργαστές Intel, αλλά θα υποστηρίζεται και από επεξεργαστές τεχνολογίας ARM.

Εκτενέστερη και πιο ολοκληρωμένη εικόνα θα έχουμε το Σεπτέμβριο σε σχετική εκδήλωση, ενώ δεν αναφέρθηκε το πότε θα δούμε τις πρώτες Windows 8 συσκευές. Το μόνο σίγουρο είναι ότι η Microsoft επηρεάστηκε αρκετά από το Windows Phone!

Τέλος, η Microsoft εγκαινίασε και την ιστοσελίδα www.buildwindows.com για όλους τους προχωρημένους προγραμματιστές που ενδιαφέρονται να μάθουν τα νέα χαρακτηριστικά του λειτουργικού συστήματος!

Microsoft Windows 8 επίσημο preview από την D9 Conference! [Update]

Σειρά για τη LG να πάρει τη σκυτάλη των παρουσιάσεων στην Computex 2011 και αποκάλυψε το LG V300 AiO PC, με σχεδιασμό που παραπέμπει στο iMac της Apple, αλλά χωρίς το μεγάλο περιθώριο στο κάτω μέρος της οθόνης!

Εκτός από το σχεδιασμό, δεν πρόκειται για ένα συνηθισμένο AiO PC, καθώς διαθέτει οθόνη multitouch 23” Full HD 1080p IPS που υποστηρίζει την αναπαραγωγή 3D υλικού, ορατού με ειδικά γυαλιά passive 3D, όμοια με αυτά που χρησιμοποιεί η νέα LG CINEMA 3DTV!

Ακόμη, διαθέτει επεξεργαστή Intel Core 2ης γενιάς (έως i7), αποθηκευτικό χώρο έως 750GB και κάρτα γραφικών AMD Radeon HD 6650M, ενώ έχει πάχος 44.7mm.

Το LG V300 AiO PC αναμένεται ότι θα κυκλοφορήσει τον Ιούλιο σε Ασία και Ευρώπη, αλλά μέχρι στιγμής δεν έχει γίνει γνωστή η τιμή του.
